Rose Hudson is the Diva, as far as we're concerned.

Born to a Puerto-Rican mother and an African-American father, Rose was exposed to R&B, Motown, Latin, you-name-it. She has a deep love for choral and operatic music. From her professional start in the music business in the 11th grade, with the band "Sunburst" in the early eighties, to her current passion for performing after a 25 year hiatus (it always comes down to family, yes?), Rose's singing combines deep power with her natural gentle nature. Besides, who else could belt 'em out louder than Mr. Santanna?

Aside from 3tc, Rose contributes to blue Light Special, the Berks Jazz Project and the Rose Hudson Trio.

Our current flex of front porch wood is the reedy mouth organ of John Merx.

He plays mostly Hohner Special 20’s and 1847 Marine Bands. He’s taken the long train to Harrisburg by way of the Irish Hills of Michigan and the influences of Madcat Ruth to another river city in Peoria, Illinois on his way to the home of blues for two years in Chicago before landing his roots in the Susquehanna Valley.

He brings the back porch Irish hillbilly into the electric soul of the basement blues clubs of the city. "Everyone in my family plays something, brown jug, juice harp, fiddle, piano. I believe music is about the light inside you and the blues is knowing what it’s like to see it flicker in the rain."

Ray Santanna plays mandolin, guitars, sitars, resonator, banjo or whatever happens to catch his eye. Best let Ray explain:

"As long as I can remember I have heard music around me.  My parents were big fans of Sinatra, and the big band sound.   I found out I could sing when a Nun in 6th grade put me in front of the whole school and told me to sing.  I had more fear of that nun than I did of the crowd in front of me.  I was introduced to Folk Music and the upright bass, then I made the switch to guitar and moved from the folk sound to rock.  I picked up the banjo because I never heard a sad banjo tune and the Mandolin became my main instrument because there were no other Mandolin players in my crowd.  My children's interest in music fueled my desires.  Their interest kept me close to the music."

We could devote a page to Ray's various instruments, let's just say he plays lots of cool stuff.

Jeff Lynch plays bass and bass guitars. He has always been deeply into music, regardless of genre. A regular participant at the weekly jams at the Lochiel Hotel, hosted by the Blues Society of Central Pennsylvania, he loves stretching and drawing outside the lines which are too often expected of the blues. Influences: Jack Bruce, Miles, Beatles, Hendrix and Bach ... and Mitch Ivanoff:) He's webhost for friend and musical genius Kip Hanrahan. Board of Directors of Concertante, the Harrisburg based, critically acclaimed chamber ensemble.

Jeff plays an Upton Hawkes double bass, a hand-made Warwick Thumb Fretless, a heavily modified Epiphone EB-1 fretless and a modified Dan Electro Longhorn. He uses Genz-Benz amplification, when necessary.
In grade school, Kevin Kline was given his first guitar by his mother while living in central Wisconsin. In middle school, he met Dave Zuege, a great musician who plays with real passion, who introduced Kevin to music ranging from Howling Wolf to Ramsey Lewis. After woodsheding for years, thanks to a move to Pennsylvania to raise his family, Kevin found himself finally playing out with 3TC, thanks to the continuing encouragement of so many in the Central Pennsylvania music scene. We're glad he did. Kevin's playing is studied, yet spontaneous ... inventive, yet always appropriate.

Kevin plays a Hamer Studio Goldtop w/ P90 pickups, essentially Hamer's take on a Gibson Les Paul double cutaway Junior. He plays the Hamer straight into a Fender Pro Jr. amp, what Jeff lovingly referes to as my lunch box amp. It's a 15 watt class A amp powered by 2 EL-84 tubes, that plays into a 10" speaker. Its small size throws a lot of people off, in a good way!
